Welcome to the Wiki for 1st Year Computing modules at the University of Central Lancashire. This is an ongoing project and your contributions are appreciated in order to make this a useful resource.
This Wiki is all about the 1st Year in Computing. So you can share information, notes that you may have taken in class, links to resources that you may have find helpful to an assignment. Your thoughts on certain topics or modules. We are going to conduct this as an experiment and see what we can gather here.
We need to start gathering information. First, check the existing pages to see if there is anything that you can add to them. Feel free to add/modify/correct any existing information. If you have weak spelling then type into Word first and use the spell checker, you know how bad spelling and grammar due to laziness pisses me off. Try and keep to the same formatting of pages throughout, to make the information more readable. You can help. Don't be afraid to edit—anyone can edit, and we encourage you to be bold! Find something that can be improved, either in content, grammar or formatting, and fix it.
There is a standard template for some pages (for example the individual module pages), but also feel free to make pages for specific topics (such as Podcasting), major events (like our gaming nights) or review pages for games and software - remember the key to a Wiki is LINKING, so make sure you link stuff up - we're trying to get a picture of how everything joins together in one big incestuous mess! Feel free to add pictures, notes, and whatever to anything on the Wiki!
Changes are tracked so keep it clean, keep it useful, and refrain from personal attacks. Anything inappropriate will be removed and you will be liable for the consequences.
